I warned him it had been used and IMHO abused some BUT I shot it when it was traded to me with it being one damn accurate 357! I have many and that 28 there will shoot with the best of them IMHO. I was busting the top of a pop can at 30 yards with it every time I shot. Worse thing teh former owner did was to LEAVE it in his truck in a leather holster year around. That invites rust and blue wear IMHO. Temps change and the leather soaks up any moisture and when it dries, it dries outside inwards straight to the meatl of teh gun. ANY I leave in my vehicles year around are eitehr in nylon holsters, stainless, or not in a holster but oiled at least once a month. As to the grips, anyone looking for grips like that for N-frames or Colts, I have several sets left that I was sending to a gun show next week. I have some for autos as well but would have to look at what they fit.

It cleaned up nicely, and is exactly what I was looking for, a good shooter that I can carry around and not worry about nicks, scratches and dings!

jjmitchell60- 11-18-2007

Have you shot it yet? I tell you I was not joking in my erlier post, that 28 suprised the crap out of me. It shoots as good if not beter that my 6" Colt grizzley and that is saying something. Only 500 of the Grizzley's made and all 500 came from Colt custom shop. IF I did not have a couple of 357s that I am not afraid to nick or scratch already, the 28 would have stayed, it is a accurate shooter. So accurate do not let MA get mad at you and have it with in her reach. lol I should have been carrying my S&W 357 yesterday when I shot that buck, would have saved me the 5th shot to finish him. 357s are cheaper than 270s.

TIM.. if it's anything like mine, you'll be glad you got it. Mine is the 6". It was my first pistol I owned. I carried it for 10 yrs. on the police force. Also won many a pistol matches with it. A real tack driver. I have a big set of pachmayr grips on mine since my hands are so big. Happy shooting.
