New 22, Scope or no scope?
Bought a new (to me) 22 yesterday and now I am in a quandry. Should I scope this thing or not? It is a BSA Martini International Match MkII with the wonderful Parker Hale target sights and it does have the scope blocks installed. Considering the cost of Unertl or El Paso Weavers I was wondering if it was worth it.

Here is one on Gunbroker they want $1200 for so If you want to scope it I would put some real good glass on it http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=74206357 Dustin

Yep, looks like that but much prettier wood.

NO! A rifle like that was made for those Parker Hale sights. Just wouldn't be right to put a scope on such a rifle.

A lot depends on what you want to do with rifle. I put a Unertl of the proper vintage on my 1933 Winchester 52 with an Eric Johnson bull barrel. It is a toy for me and not a serious target rifle. It weighs 12# and I only shoot it from a rest. There is a good bit of wear on the barrel but it will still do 1" 100 yd groups with the right ammo.

I vote for no scope.

Yeah especially if he's gonna use it in the 22 shoot at the get together!!!! :D
