What period are you wanting Ron, 18th, 19th, or early 20th century Dustin

Ron, check out a company called Smoke and Fire News. they have a sgtore for 18th century period clothing. NOW as Dustin asked, what period, if 16th, 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries; you will need to check into places like Track of teh Wolf, Dixie Gun Works, Log Cabin Shops, James Townsend and Company as well as MANY others. As to later 19th century, look at cowboy action shooting sites. Look at teh links i posted as a sticky, it has many good clothing links on there. Expect clothing to NOT be cheap. A good back woodsman outfit will cost about $200-$500 depending on what you make yourself. Leggings, haversack, possibles bag, and bed roll woill be some of the highest priced items. A good period correct blanket made by Wilde Weavery (I think that is the name) will run you around $300 by itself. Seriously, look through all the links I posted in the sticky here in the BP forum. IF you decide on a time period, let me know and i can help as to what you will need to be period correct. Knee britches will run $50, a trade shirt will run around $40, and Moccasins will rin around $100 for decent ones and good hand made ones by some of teh better makers will run as much as $300. Period correct shoes if you want to go that route instead of Mocs will run $100 or so.

Late 18th Century is what I'm looking for. Possibly Buckskins also.

Actually to be 'native" you need a Breechclout (what you call a loin cloth), a trade shirt, leggings, moccasins, and LOTS of trade jewlery. Actually to do it right, being a native reenactor can be the MOST expensive one to do. A good quill worked possibles bag will run you as much as $800! Now to be as I do, a white in the native world or as some called us renegade, knee britches, leather leggings, trade shirt, wastcoat, moccasins or colonial straight shoes (I have center seam mocs and a pair of voyager boots which are a white mans cross between a boot and mocs), hunting frock, woll cloak (for cold weather and makes a good blanket), bed roll, haversack, possibles bag, canteen, and many other items. TRUST me, they had stouter backs in those days.

I've lost touch with an old friend who was into re-enacting big time way back before I knew him. Don't recall all the details but he had handmade his buckskin britches and a vest(I think). Biggest reason I remember it cuz he said he had to chew the hell out of it all to soften it up enough to be able to wear it. And the first time they got good and wet? They "grew" so much he couldn't hardly keep them up!! I think I'd havta sneak me some goretex into my britches if I had to put up with all that!
