Pickled sweet peppers YUMMY cold pack
Put in a quart mason jar
1 clove garlic
1 teaspoon olive oil
sliced green peppers to fill jar (you can add a hot pepper or two, or red pepper flakes if you prefer them a litt;e warm
Mix on stove bring to boil
5 cups sugar
2 qts of yellow vinegar
2 cups of water
1/4 cup of salt
This is enough brine for 4 quarts, adjust if necessary for more
pour over peppers to fill jar, seal with jar lid and ring as usual!!!
These are sweet and yummy!!!!
One of our friends makes banana peppers: stuffs the peppers with sauerkraut..then puts the sauce (Vinegar, sugar, water) over and puts in the canner the approprate times. Good stuff too!!!!!
