Here is my .38 lemon squeezer made in 1909.

3rd Model New Departure. I don't see anything in Blue Book about the wood grips and I have never seen one with wood grips. I would think they would bring a premium

Bill, I believe it to be a fifth model from the serial number 2509xx. The front sight is pinned, but i'm told this could be right for a fifth edition. The wooden grips are very rare due to their fragile nature, but these remain in tact with no cracks.

fifth model from the serial number 2509xx. That makes it a 5th Model. Blue Book doesn't mention the pinned front sight on the .38 but on the .32 that change was made on the 4th & 5th fifth model You gonna get a Roy Jinks letter on it? I would :D

Do you shoot your old 38 S&Ws or just look at them? I have 5 old ones, 2 S&W, 2 IJs, and an Enfield. I hand load for mine using 148 gr HBWC bullets. I enjoy shooting these old pistols.

I took my 2nd model Safety Hammerless out to the range today and put 40 rounds thru it. I had my Secret Service Special 38 S&W out yesterday and put about 50 rounds thru it. I got to load some 38S&W now. I am using 148 hbwc with 1.7 gr of Trail Boss. It makes an accurate load for the old relics.

Dustin, If you're refering to the 303 Sav, I have not shot it, because I ain't got no blankety, blank ammo for help. Somebody HELP!!!!!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
