Scope..moving it backI would like to move my scope back another inch.
As you can see it is back as far as it can go using the Ruger factory rings.
Do I have another option for moving the scope back?
Ya move it back any further and your going to take your eye out!!!
The problem here is the Ruger system has one ring high and one ring low.
High one is in the rear.
Thats what ya get for buying a Ruger!!!!
Real men don't use scopes............
Real men don't use scopes............
Yeah and thats why real men poke holes in a rain barrel thats 20 feet to the right of the chosen target!!!
Ya could always cut an inch off the stock!!
No iron sites on this gun.
Use Kentucky windage!!!
Pa, that barrel moved into the line of fire!!
Take a look at Midway item 224077 Leupold offset rings. You can probably put together a set of offset rings that will get you back some.
I have this style of set-up on one of my PCP air rifles.
Go down the left side of the page to "scope mounts" and click on BKL >You can also contact the good folks at BKL directly.

You need some "reach forward " mounts (halfway down the page) but I don't know who would make one for a Ruger. I would contact Ruger themselves.
Actualy Ron, the best thing to do is buy a longer scope. Ruger mounts are good mounts so look into a longer tubed scope. I might add after looking at the picture, I would cut an inch off the stock if nothing else. Not everyone has the same LOP. My daughter's rifle is cut to 12" and she is 21 years old.
Ruger sells off set rings that will get the scope back another inch, but scope rings fer Rugers are kind of expensive.
Just one more reason I like Leupold scopes. The eye relief on most scopes is 3", but on Leupolds it's 4", so you aren't forced to mount them as far back.
