Space Shuttle
Never done this before....As I am typing this, I am listening to them getting ready to launch the space shuttle into orbit. When this is posted, I will switch off so I can watch the launch. It's on Fox..........live. Pretty cool. About 5 minutes to launch now.

We get the NASA Channel here in ""Rocket City"
Night launches are always spectacular
Someday I would like to see one of those in person.
If you can ever talk Charlie into coming south for a visit and there is a launch on let me know, I know the best places to watch from.
That was a pretty launch, sound waves just finished.I watched from my front porch. And I never get tired of them.
I just got back from my ex's house she got back from FL. She said she should have stayed another day because she missed the shuttle tonight, her condo is right next door in Cocoa Beach.
That was cool......I went to Cape Kennedy one time with the Bureau on a safety conference. We toured the facility. I saw one of the shuttles on the pad from a distance. It was huge.
However, the most memorable thing about the whole trip to this west coast country boy was seeing a real live ALLIGATOR from the bus window!! :o :o Then, on the way back to Orlando, seeing one crossing the road!!  People back there treat them like we treat lizards out here.................
..........only we don't eat them, Dustin.

I also did the tour down there many years ago. Saw the size of those things and couldn't believe how they got up and stayed up in the air.
Mine used to do that!!!!!
Dangit Charlie!!! If you knew how oatmeal looked on my monitor and keyboard, you wouldn't say shit like that!!!!

Watched and recorded the launch. Love the technology and the pure horsepower!
I thought you guys knew better to read some posts on here with food and drink far, far away!
In 03 when they werenot launching any shuttle flights due to the last accident on re-entry, we were down at Cocoa Beach when the launched the second biggest launch they due, the shuttle is the biggest. We were going to leave out the day of the launch but JuJu told us about it so we stayed an extra day. we watched it from Cocoa Beach near the pier and man we had a front row seat IMHO being the Cape is right above Cocoa Beach. What was also nice was the beach below the town is part of the USAF base and if former military, you can use the beach all night but if not you have to leave at dark. they have patrols coming around. I showed my VA card and we stayed at the beach till well past midnight. The kids loved it. Nice watching ships out on the ocean and the constant flights coming inbto the base being they were gearing up for the launch in case something went wrong. Do not know why, it was unmanned. I advise everyone to see a live launch if at all possible in theuir life time.
Did anyone hear anything about debris flying off the shuttle?? Pa saw it on the TV the other night but I haven't heard any more. Hope we don't lose another one.
Only thing I heard was they lost a bag in a space walk that had some tools in it, epoxy to seal the tiles, and a calk gun! Said it was to joing the many thousands of other space junk flying around our planet BUT should anyone find it on earth, NASA was offering a reward.
