Im just as upset about the UAW wages as you are, Im Union I don't make a fourth of what they do!!! Are they over paid, yes, but whos was it that agreed to give them those wages? Do you know what our management would tell us if we struck for such high wages, take a friggin hike thats what!!! Our company is family owned and thank God it's run by some managers with some common sense!!! Yeah you can buy Chicago Cutlery, made in China for peanuts, and I'm sure their employees get less then peanuts for making them!! Cutco is expensive, but I assure it's not because of the excessive wages and benefits we receive!!! Our Union works very well with our management. We make a quality product, and we stand behind it!!! Bash the unions all ya want, but they ain't all bad!!! Kinda like cops occassionally ya find a good one!!!!

Next time ya want your knives sharpened send them to a non union employee at Cutco!!!! Point being that all the emplyees that make and sharpen the knives are Union, the office and management are non union. Cutco knives are sharpened and repaired basically for free, I never meant that you ever owed us anything for getting the knives sharpened. I merely did it because it would save you shipping and you would get them back much quicker. If you took this as my way of saying you owed me money for sharpening them you are gravely wrong.

Cointoss, Got a couple guys here. One works at Royles and the other at GM in Indy. Both have bragged about sitting next to a machine and reading a magazine and making 30 bucks for it. I know that is not all the guys working there. I have a brother who works in the foundry at International Harvester. He has to work for his doe. Sorry, I should have been more specific.

I used to work for the company that came up with the above ground lifts that you see in tire shops, mechanic shops, auto repair businesses of all kinds, walmarts Tire-lube-express, and otehr shops where you have to lift a vehicle up. I was a certified welder for a few years then went to CNC programing/setup/operate. One CNC lathe I ran had one job that we ran .666 or 2/3s of a piec for an 8hour shift! I actually turned it on, began it running, and read magazines, news papers, or whatever I could when that job was ran. I was paid good for doing it too. Sadly it was one boring ass job IMHO. we were union as well, AIW.
