Tumbler recommendations????
I would like to get a brass tumbler. Now I only reload on a small time basis, so I don't need nothing expensive or fancy, I just want something that works well. Pa

I like the Lyman myself simply because it has a feature where you open a small cute and the polishing media is strained out. With other tumblers you will need some system for seperating your brass from the polishing media, and that can be a mess. The Lyman folks hade a good idea with their tumbler system and media seperator.

I use and recommend the midway vibrators with the sifter that you can use with a 5 gallon bucket. I also recommend rice as a cleaning and polishing media. I buy the cheapest I can find in a five pound bag and use a polishing liquid such as the one midway sells. I would stay away from the red polishing liquids as they leave a messy red residue on your cases that gets on your hands, clothes, etc.

Have you considered a Ultra Sonic to squeakey clean your brass, and they will also clean tons of other stuff ?

Lyman :!: I got one of those cheap a$$ Midway Frankford Arsenal tumblers it ran about 30 min and died. Sent it back exchanged it for a Lyman not one bit of trouble with it

I have the big Dillon and teh media sifter as well. I can load it with several 100 pieces of brass with no problems at all Tim. Down side is they are not cheap. I had a smaller RCBS and loved it but the Dillon came with all teh reloading stuffI inherited so I kept the Dillon and sold the RCBS, the RCBS was at least 20 years old.

I have a real real old tumbler that has what looks like 2 tupperware bowls one inside the other mounted on a wood platform that vibrates. The dain thing shakes like a dog shitting a peach pit but it works for small loads of brass.

I have two Frankford Arsenal tumblers and have used them for about three years with no problems at all. I load them with about 150 357 cases and let it run about two hours with walnut from wally world and a couple of table spoons of Turtle Wax ( it is safe) But then I told I am strange so maybe I do it all wrong
