Winchester 25-35
My Uncle has an old Winchester 25-35 which was handed down through the family. He is 86 and his father in law gave him the gun in his will. My uncle said that many deer were taken in Indiana and Michigan with that gun.
Is this possible? Does that cal have enough knock down power to handle deer?
The gun has been reblued so its value has been reduced. But the blue job is perfect and is the deep blue, it looks like a new gun and the action is solid.
What would you-all think the value of this gun is. It was mfg in 1919! A model 94 I beleive.
Sig,
You are very lucky to have a rifle that has been passed down in the family.
In this case that is where the value is, a re-blued 94, even in excellent condition, would have little collectors value!
There are simply too many 94's out there yet.
Enjoy it for what it's worth to you............ :D
Sig for bullet performance
A Winchester 25-35 117 grain soft point leaves the barrel at 2230 FPS.
And it has right around 1292 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle

Thanks for the info. I guess thats enough to take deer at short range!
I believe thats the caliber that was used on the once world record "Jordan" buck.
